Goals and impact

Sharks led a consortium composed by a Croatian finswimming club and an Italian swimming club. The project strengthened core values and ethics related to good governance in sport for the everyday functioning of sports clubs in Europe.

The project focused on dual education of athletes, in consideration of their possible role as future managers in the organization. And considered important elements regarding nutrition, training, and management. Project activities included the implementation at national level of tailored workshops, e-learning sessions, as core education activity, and traineeship in sport organizations. The three grassroot sport organizations equally contributed to reach the overall objectives and the final success of the project. And they all gained amazing experience from the project implementation, due to regular dialogue and information and communication exchange.

The target audience of the project was athletes and other club members, and indirectly other interested sport bodies. The primary project objective included education of athletes and sport club members, development of their skills and knowledge in areas critical for sustainable development of sport clubs; second objective was the promotion of the concept and practices of good governance in sports in Europe; and the third was the development of a stronger pan-European cooperation among related sport clubs, to support the institutionalized exchange of experiences and knowledge.

At the end of the project, the participants were able to manage sport clubs independently and to replicate the results in any related situation. The project produced a web platform to share all e-learning material, documents, and solutions for routine tasks of a non-professional sport club. Aurora was the name of the project, as it recalls the dawn. The dawn of a new culture in sport, school, life.
