Who We Are

About Us

We make it very easy

Sharks Sport Club is a non-profit association established in 2016 by a group of friends. The original goal was to bring together passionate people and promote sport and physical activity as tools for well-being, social gathering and inclusion.

Since then, with our sport engagement, we want to tackle any form of discrimination and bad practices, including those related to doping and match-fixing. Today we count on many talented and engaged Sharks, we are active in Sweden, Italy, and Spain and are happy to share our expertise and live more adventures together.

Our Story

Building a Community

It started in 2016, as most great stories do—not with fanfare, but with a shared obsession and a spark of wild ambition. Somewhere along the windswept coastlines of Stockholm, three friends stood shivering at the edge of the Baltic Sea, wetsuits half-zipped, goggles in hand, hearts pounding with the kind of restlessness only endurance athletes understand.

There, among the brackish inlets and pine-lined trails, the idea for Sharks Sports Club was born.

They weren’t trying to make history. They just wanted to train harder, smarter, and with people who got it—who understood the pull of open water and the call of the trail. The idea was simple: create a community where grit met passion, where every session felt like a mission, and where the finish line was just the beginning of the next challenge.

The early days were rough, in the best possible way. They met before dawn, laced up trail shoes in sleet and snow, dove into ice-cold lakes while most of the city slept. There were no fancy logos, no sponsorships, no glory—just swim caps, bike grease, and a dogged belief in each other.

But word got out.

Maybe it was the way they trained—fearless, relentless, with that unmistakable “Shark” energy. Or perhaps it was the vibe: welcoming, uplifting, competitive in the best sense. People started showing up. Soon, Sharks Sports Club was no longer just a few friends—it was a full-fledged movement.

By 2018, the club was fielding athletes in major triathlon and swimrun events across Sweden and beyond. We raced for fun, to become fully-Finisher-fledged, with a competitive spirit, but also as a big Shark-family. Training sessions grew and included more people, local meetups turned into community events, and the Sharks banner began appearing at races all over Europe.

But what made the club truly great wasn’t the medals or the race times (though there were plenty). It was the culture. A rare mix of intensity and inclusion. From experienced age-group competitors to first-time triathletes, everyone trained side by side. Everyone pushed. Everyone lifted each other.

The Stockholm endurance scene took notice. By the early 2020s, Sharks Sports Club was not just a club — it was The Club. Known for their unbreakable spirit, their fierce camaraderie, their “Sharks-attack” strategy and their unforgettable team colors slicing through the fog on a misty swimrun start line.

And yet, despite its growth, the core never changed. The spirit of those three friends—founded on friendship, forged in cold waters—remained in every stroke, pedal, and stride.

Today, Sharks Sports Club stands as a testament to what happens when passion meets purpose. A place where athletes become teammates, teammates become family, and every training day feels like a small victory. Today, our athletes are standing out for their Sharkness! It doesn’t matter how many sprint triathlons or ÖTILLÖ we have completed, when one races in Sharks colors, is part of something bigger, is part of our Family.

Our Core Values

Connection with Nature

We believe endurance sports in Sweden, such as triathlon and swimrun, offer a unique opportunity to connect with some of the world’s most stunning natural environments. Our training emphasises responsible enjoyment of Sweden’s allemansrätten (right to roam).

And through our training, we want to raise awareness of the importance of protecting and respecting the natural environment. We need clean waters to swim, we want neat forest to run, we need pure air to better perform. We strive to ensure our well-being and the well-being of the surrounding natural environment, for it to stay clean, protected, and respected.

Our Core Values

Inclusive Excellence

While we celebrate competitive achievement, we’re equally committed to making endurance sports accessible to everyone. Our programs accommodate all levels, ages, and backgrounds.

Our Core Values

Community Support

Sharks Sport Club is more than training sessions—it’s a community where members support each other through challenges, celebrate achievements, and build lasting friendships.

Our Core Values

Sustainable Practice

We prioritize environmentally responsible training and events, minimize our carbon footprint, and actively contribute to preserving the natural spaces we train in.
